Free on Board (FOB)

Discipline: Economics

An international trade term according to which the exporter quotes the price of goods to be sold referring to a certain loading point, which in most cases is a port.

The ownership transfer of the goods occur at the loading point, for which the FOB is quoted.

The FOB price does not include any transportation or insurance costs.
